Fiction Film
Our short film Echoes of My Father stars Hotaru Kajino Koziarski and Kurumi Akira Koziarski, daughters of filmmakers Junko Kajino and Ed M Koziarski, as two little girls who set out on a journey that will bring them through mystery, fear, loss, and renewal. We shot the film in Junko's hometown of Ina, Nagano, Japan, using real locations from her life. The story of Echoes of My Father is excerpted from our in-development feature-length screen Hand, Head, Heart.
We wrote, produced, and directed the feature film The First Breath of Tengan Rei, starring Erika as a young Okinawan woman who kidnaps the teenage son of a US Marine convicted of raping her when she was a girl.
Our short film Homesick Blues stars Zoey (now Remah) as a girl spending her last days in Osaka before she runs off to America to become a blues singer. Homesick Blues won best film at the IFP Chicago Film Festival and screened at festivals including Chicago International and Hawaii International.
